NUTRI-SNOW ® From Southern Snow ®

SMART SNACKS SYRUP

Smart Snacks in schools as of March 15, 2016:

The USDA Smart Snack program requires nutritional standards for foods sold in schools. The current requirement for a shaved ice or snow ball is as follows:

● Contain 10% of the Daily Value (DV) of one of the nutrients of public health concern in the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (calcium, potassium, vitamin D, or dietary fiber).

Compliance can be achieved by choosing one of the following:

1) Add one pack of Southern Snow® Vitamin D3 to prepare ten (10) gallons of smart snack simple syrup. $9.00

2) Add 128 grams of Metamucil or Benefiber to a gallon of snow ball syrup. Both of these products are in most drugstores. Benefiber is preferred because it does not have added flavor. One half of the Benefiber 248 gram container would be perfect for a gallon of snow ball syrup. This would deliver 4 grams for every 4 ounces of syrup found in a 12 ounce snow ball.

NUTRI-SNOW ®

Why Nutri-Snow®?

1) The "Smart Snack" program compliance requirements will continue to escalate, possibly to vitamins.

2) Some competitors use Nutri-Snow® to show an advantage for their snow balls / shaved ice products over others. A $4.00 pack will prepare 10 gallons of vitamin syrup.

DIRECTIONS: Add one pack to every ten (10) gallons of simple syrup. Each four (4) ounce syrup serving will deliver 10% of the U.S. daily recommended nutrients as follows:
